Note to self:

LiveID is passport with key changes, InfoCard is now called CardSpace (and no I cant find any implementations), Windows LiveID will play nicely through interaction with WS-Trust, WS-Federation, CardSpace and ADFS.

You know I keep rabbiting on about the importance of Identity on the social web, and that I think Dick Hardt of Sxip is the ‘rock star’ of online identity.  You may not know about my history with directories inside Microsoft from the Exchange 4.0 days through Hailstorm, Active Directory, Passport and a few others.  Because of this I keep an eye out for discussion on what is happening out there, being a recent convert to the ‘user centric, url based’ models from a ‘federation is everything’ world view.

This morning, the sxip blog coughed up this little gem:

http://sxip.com/newsitem-identity_2.0_google_not

Which confirms my sense of de ja vu when talking about google’s recent play in the online identity space.  The post also points to other important posts by key players in this space.
