Today I was involved in the fascinating task of moving some art. Not just any art – MecArt – Rick Clise’s rather large and very heavy sculpture pieces. Today’s adventure involved putting a two piece set into packing crates.

First we disassembled each crate. Then the pieces were placed on the base of each crate and Rick used his ‘45 degree’ pen to mark hole locations. Then we drilled, re-placed and bolted each piece to its base. Finally the crates were re-assembled around each piece.

For more of Ricks work see www.rickclise.com – and if you are in Adelaide from the 4th to the 20th of August, look out for his pieces at the sala festival. (Especially exhibit 135 – The Perfumed Garden 559 Portrush Rd, Glenunga).
