Since we have a few genuine live bloggers in the audience, I will try to share a behind the scenes perspective.
UPDATE:
Here are some links to feedback about the event.
After a long morning setting up, I am pleased to announce that ‘MungeBrothers are go!’
Internet connection working, audio recording levels OK.
Back soon.
Live Bloggers I’v spotted so far:
PHEW – audio recording is going fairly well. Gerry White’s talk has been posted as a podcast (during morning break). Phillip Adams recording is uploading as I type.
Check out: feed.educationau.edu.au for the podcast (and others as they are produced – all 4 talks were posted before midnight!)
AH – the workshop is over and we are listening to Annika Small from Futurelab and looking at a blurry video image that takes most of the links bandwidth and adds bugger all value.
Pictures from the workshop at: http://flickr.com/photos/54471306@N00/
(look out for the Munge Brothers in BLUE SHIRTS)
Got to the airport (thru lots of water) and flights were delayed. Gave us time to read some of the feedback forms which were mostly very encouraging. People who already ‘get blogging’ enjoyed the loose form and chaos of the workshop, those who don’t would have preferred more concrete steps which might help them understand. Only one or two hurtful comments.
I cannot remember having worked so hard and being so exhilarated – this event was a hoot!

The audio sounds fantastic! I’m listening to James Farmer right now. As a former journalist, writer and someone who is working in education ICT right now, I found the Paulo Freire quote very moving:
“…only through communication can human life hold meaning. The teacher’s thinking is authenticated only by the authenticity of the students’ thinking. The teacher cannot think for her students, nor can she impose her thought on them. Authentic thinking, thinking that is concerned about reality , does not take place in ivory tower isolation, but only in communication. If it is true that thought has meaning only when generated by action upon the world, the subordination of students to teachers becomes impossible.”
