Very thought provoking episode of ORielly ‘Distributing the Future’ podcast today. The hilight for me begins about 9 mins in where Irwin Gross talks about the need for a new legal framework for Intellectual Property marketplaces to flourish.
Dennis – you MUST listen to at least 10minutes worth!
An interesting question that weaves through what all speakers had to say:
- How much does your music collection weigh?
(compare that to how much it wieghed 20 years ago!! – this same comparison has been applied to GDP of many nations and is important to think about)
If I get around to it I will snip the relevant section out for those of you with less time than me.
Ownership
Who owns your stuff? We continue to present excerpts from the O’Reilly Radar Executive Briefing. Tim O’Reilly talks to Chad Dickerson about Flickr and Open Services, Irwin Gross looks at the rising tide of intellectual property, and Roger Magoulas shows us what’s on the technology radar.
