Don’t believe everything you hear. Turns out to be myth – thanks to the commenters for bringing this to my attention. (Especially Roger for opening my eyes to www.snopes.com – myth busted). HERE is a list of brands owned by the Phillip Morris Tobacco company (kraft and vegemite included).
If you are as horrified as I am to hear that vegemite is banned in the USA then get off your arse and do something about it. Click HERE and sign the petition.

Not sure how this story got started – I heard it on the ABC this morning. However, the Herald Sun and SMH via the Australian Associated Press say it ain’t so. I couldn’t find any mention of Vegemite on the FDA site, let alone a statement confirming or denying the ban. Bizaare, eh?
